ALASKA (GENERALLY). "Alaska / AND THE / Klondike / Gold Fields" hardbound book with illustrated cover & spine, by A. C. Harris, 1897 copyright. 556 pages give a full account of the discovery, routes traversed by miners, instructions on how to find gold, camp life, etc. Embellished with many engravings & a fold-out map. Used with spine starting to separate -- just handle gently -- but still retaining most of its appeal. Seen offered elsewhere over $100.00 but we need a more much realistic $27.50 amy ILLUSTRATION ADDED RECENTLY

Uncaptioned sepia-tone real photo postcard mailed  APR 18 1940 at Fairbanks, showing Miss Alaska arriving by dogsled for a Pan American Airways flight, PAA marking visible on plane at left. [Their Seattle - Alaska service started in that year, which may account for the hoopla seen here.] Sold but front side still available for scholarly study & research as an enlarged 300-dpi scan (publication quality) in .jpg format for $3.75. a(g)a(p)d

ALASKA AIRLINES (Territorial). "Alaska's famed bush pilots / have earned the respect of / the Territory and the world -- / (See picture on reverse side)" unsigned art on an unused regular-size postcard issued by the airline, very light toning on back. Necessarily printed 1944 (company formed) - 1959 (state, not territory), but the art is suggestive of the precursor McGee Airways Stinson 'S' with the MC GEE painted over, in which case we get a more precise WWII issuance. $15.00 $10.50 a(p)a SALE PRICE: SAVE $4.50

ELDRED ROCK. NORTH CARIBOO AIRLINES. Continental black-and-white photograph of its Piper PA-31 (C-GPAC) parked near a building, good focus & composition, image a bit dark.
