Poinciana, / at Bermuda" showing the Dutch-built freighter from the side, near shore; unused real photo postcard, identification written on back is confirmed by magnification of the front view, trivial & tiny spots of toning on back. Later, when named the Jim Atria, she capsized & sank in the Miami River, and it is now a destination for divers. Rare: the only card of the ship we have ever seen in anyone's stock. Also included, a smaller and undoubtedly unique photo showing her front deck in high seas, captioned by the same hand on back "The m.v. "OSLOFJORD" with caption taken from the ship's name showing prominently, unused color postcard issued by the Norwegian America Line (NAL), envelope glue disturbance on back from a covered mailing, edges are good. Used by the Royal Navy as a troopship, it struck a mine on December 1 1940, with some loss of life & subsequent controversy (and propaganda) when it was not towed to the nearest port. Tons / A New Concept in Tourist Travel" postcard printed in the Netherlands for the Holland-America Line, unused, bottom corner bend not easily noticed from the front. AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL AIRWAYS (Australia). Unused regular
size postcard showing its Douglas DC-4-1009 Skymaster flying over Melbourne Victoria,
pertinent information under the caption, paper lightly browning with age, obviously
airline issued (logo at bottom front center), trivial corner wear. On 26 June 1950 this
plane crashed shortly after taking off from Guildford Airport in Western Australia. Only
one passenger survived; the other 28 souls aboard perished. Sold but still available for scholarly study
& research as an enlarged (about 400% of original print area) & enhanced 144-dpi

HARBOUR AIR (Canada). Unused regular-size postcard showing its DeHavilland Canada DHC-2 (C-FOCJ) in flight over Vancouver British Columbia, copyrighted, near mint. On 4 August 1998 this aircraft overturned on landing at Kincolith British Columbia; all 5 aboard drowned. $15.00 abd NEW / NEU / NUEVO HELISUL / HELISUL TAXI AÈREO (Brasil). Unused continental post card showing it Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante (PT-WAV) in February 1995, published in Brasil, near mint. Unused regular-size post card showing its Canadair CL-44D-4 (HK-3148X) at Miami Florida in November 1986, published in West Germany, near mint. On 6 July 1988 this aircraft crashed at Barranquilla with the loss of its 8 people on board. $15.00 acdf LUMBINI AIRWAYS (Nepal). Continental post card showing its DeHavilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter 300 (9N-AEQ) parked on a slope near the Paradise Lodge, copyrighted, near mint. Also later flew for Yeti Airlines, crashing near Jumla on June 21 2006 with 9 fatalities. $15.00 adn LUXAIR (Luxembourg). Continental color photo of its Vickers Viscount (LX-LGC) with open doorway, good focus & contrast & composition. On 22 December 1969 this aircraft was damaged beyond repair in a landing accident; fortunately no one was killed. Rare. $10.00 adl MANDALA AIRLINES (Indonesia). Unused regular-size postcard showing its Lockheed L-188C Electra (PK-RLG) with motors running at Meda in July 1984, printed in Switzerland, near mint. On November 30 1985 this aircraft made a wheels-up landing at Meda-Polonia Airport; fortunately there were no fatalities but the aircraft was written off. $10.00 adi% MCMCD / MONROE COUNTY MOSQUITO CONTROL DISTRICT (USA). Continental black & white Ilford real photo postcard showing its Douglas DC-3 (N28889) being serviced, good composition & focus but image a bit dark, . On May 2 1989 this aircraft crashed after striking mangrove trees; both people on board perished. This Florida District reached agreed in 1995 to discontinue ground spraying of mosquito insecticide from its planes in important Schaus swallowtail habitat during the endangered butterfly's breeding season. Rare. $12.50 adef MERPATI NUSANTARA AIRLINES (Indonesia). Unused continental postcard showing its Casa 202-!B4-200 (PK-NCS) in October 1982, from a limited edition of 500, near mint. On July 9 1997, this aircraft crashed while attempting to land on one engine at Ambon-Pattimura Airport Indonesia; all 3 aboard perished. $15.00 adi METRO AIRWAYS (Denmark). Continental color photo of its Fairchild Swearingen 226 Metroliner III (OY-BPN) on the ground. On December 24 2002 this aircraft crashed on takeoff from Aberdeen Scotland with 2 fatalities; cause was a multiple bird strike. Rare. $10.00 asd NORDAIR (Canada). Continental color photograph of its Lockheed L-1049H Super Constellation (CF-NAJ) on the ground, good focus & composition. On August 3 1969, while flying for Canairelief Air, it crashed at Uli airstrip in Nigeria with 4 fatalities. Rare. $12.50 cadn NORTH AMERICAN AIRLINES (USA). Unused regular-size post card showing its Douglas DC-4 Skymaster flying overhead, dispensed to passengers aboard while they were flying, light toning on back, bottom of back lists airline's phone numbers in various cities. On 24 September 1959, while operating for Reeve Aleutian Airlines, this airplane crashed into a mountain at Great Sitkin Island Alaska; all 16 aboard perished. $20.00 a(p)ad! NORTH CARIBOO AIRLINES (Canada). Continental black-and-white photograph of its Piper PA-31 (C-GPAC) parked near a building, good focus & composition, image a bit dark. On 20 September 1987, while flying for Air North, this airplane crashed into a glacier near Eldred Rock Alaska, with 5 fatalities. $10.00 a(p)ad NORTHWEST AIRLINES (USA). Unused regular-size post card showing its Casa 212 Aviocar 200 (N160FB) parked, from a limited edition of 500 printed in 1989, near mint. On March 4 1987, when operating for Northwest Airlink / Fischer Brothers Aviation, it crash-landed at Detroit-Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Michigan. 9 of the 19 people on board perished, and the airplane was written off. $12.50 amd NORTHWEST AIRLINES (USA). Unused continental post card showing its Douglas DC-7C (N290) flying over Southern California in 1957, faint small corner bend. PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES (Pakistan). Unused regular-size post card showing its Fokker F-27-200 Friendship at Karachi in November 1984, printed in Switzerland, slight curl to the paper, otherwise excellent condition. On August 25 1989 this airplane crashed at Gilgit Pakistan; all 54 aboard perished. $12.00 apd
PAN AMERICAN AIRWAYS / PAN AM (USA). Unused regular-size postcard showing its Martin M-130 (NC14716) in flight as drawn by Ray Andersen, pebbled stock, 1975 copyright, tiny red dot in front margin is a printer's guide, minor wear to one bottom corner. The first China Clipper designed for the Pacific crossing. On January 8 1945 this aircraft crashed while attempting to land at Port of Spain Trinidad & Tobago, with 23 fatalities. $10.00 a(p)atd PAN MALAYSIAN TRANSPORT (Malaysia). Unused continental postcard showing its Shorts Skyvan 3 (9M-PID ex 9M-AXX) parked near a building, from a limited edition of 500, near mint. PIEDMONT AIRLINES (USA). Unused regular-size post card showing its Beechcraft BC-99 (N7217L) on the ground, FROM A LIMITED EDTION OF 500 PRINTED IN 1986, image a little heavy on the magenta, tiny corner crease. WESTWARD AIRWAYS, LIMITED (United Kingdom). Continental black & white photo of its Britten Norman Islander (G-AXHE) parked when it served as the Heathrow Gatwick Shuttle, good composition & focus & contrast, several tiny black speckles from the development process. On 5 February 1994 this aircraft went off the runway at Cark Cumbria and was written off. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Rare. $7.50 a(p)du NEW / NEU / NUEVO WIDEROE FLYVESELSKAP A/S (Norway). Unused continental postcard showing its DeHavilland Canada DHC-7-102 (LN-WFL) on the ground, excellent condition. Continental black & white Ilford real photo postcard showing its Shorts SC-7 Skyvan (N4917) on the ground on a rainy day, good composition & focus, contrast is a bit low, identification details penned on the back, otherwise excellent condition. On August 25 1977, when flying for Island Airways on lease from Air Cargo Hawaii, this aircraft crashed on approach to the Kona-Keahole Airport, and both occupants lost their lives. $12.50 a(p)dh NEW / NEU / NUEVO WINGS WEST AIRLINES (United States). Reregistered as N343AE, it was damaged beyond repair in an aborted takeoff on September 29 2002 at Hawthorne Airport in California; fortunately there were no fatalities. $10.00 a(p)cd NEW / NEU / NUEVO WORLD AIRWAYS (United States). Unused regular size postcard showing its Douglas DC-6A (N90783) on the ground, from a limited edition of 500 published in 1984, near mint. This plane also flew for Zantop. On August 7 1996, when flying for Transair Cargo, this aircraft crashed near Lizambo in The Congo Democratic Republic and was written off. $12.50 a(p)cd NEW / NEU / NUEVO WRANGLER AVIATION (United States). Unused regular size copyrighted postcard showing its Canadair CL-44D4-6 (N100BB) on the ground, trivial wear to the bottom corners, minor fingernail indents at the top edge.
