COAST GUARD ARCTIC OPERATIONS 1957 - 1986
Group of 22 different covers documenting Coast Guard operations in Arctic waters during that time period. All #6 size, all cacheted, good variety of stamps. Ships include USCGC Northwind (WAGB-282, 1957 example shown above left), USCGC Westwind (WAGB-281, 1959 example shown above right), USCGC Southwind (WAGB-280), USCGC Staten Island (WAGB-278), USCGC Bramble (WLB 392), USCGC Polar Sea (WAGB-11), USCGC Mellon (WHEC-717), USCGC Cape Hatteras (WPB 95305), USCGC Sweetbrier (WLB-405), USCGC Storis (WMEC-38), USCGC Sedge (WWLB 402). Only two condition problems worth noting--the Mellon has ink smears in the cachet area & the Sweetbrier cachet is light. Some are really nice to make up for it. $37.50 gets them all. c*+ COAST GUARD ANTARCTIC OPERATIONS 1957 - 1986
Group of 30 different covers documenting Coast Guard operations in Antarctic waters during that time period. All #6 size, all cacheted, good variety of stamps. Locations include Adare Station, Palmer Station & McMurdo Sound. Nothing serious condition-wise: one has a small spot on front affecting nothing, a few cancels light in spots & 5 of the covers have glue show-through on the back. Some are spectacular: plate block, multiple cachets, etc. $90.00 for all 30. ca
