Some of the settlers around the lake formed the Night Riders to combat the land company that was asserting its lake rights due to old land grants issued by states before the area was submerged by a significant earthquake. Captain Quintin Rankin was hung & shot in this incident; another man, a land company lawyer the Night Riders were intent on killing, escaped. For obvious reasons a rare postcard.
