NewYork_NewYork_Anchor-200_small.jpg NYC photograph available from LotsOfPhotos.comJERSEY CITY (HUDSON COUNTY). "ANCHOR A. C." showing its small boathouse with members seated on the dock, 1 member alongside in a canoe; uncaptioned sepia-tone real photo post card mailed at New York Station D in 1905 to Mr. Ernst Schwarz c/o The YMCA City, oxidation consistent with age, trivial corner wear. The Anchor Athletic Club was a member of the Metropolitan Association of the Amateur Athletic Union. Memorabilia from this small club it is very hard to find. We have seen one letterhead from it, giving club headquarters at 506-508 Central Avenue, Jersey City New Jersey. Their boathouse was, therefore, likely either on the Hudson River or on a reach of the Hackensack River. Possibly unique: no printed caption, no photographer attribution, no publisher attribution. Sold but front side still available for scholarly study & research as an enlarged (about 771% of original print area) & enhanced 200-dpi scan in .jpg format. $2.00 n(n)s(p)n(j)

LAKEHURST (OCEAN COUNTY). "AN ACTUAL PHOTO OF THE HINDENBURG DISASTER / LAKEHURST, N. J., MAY 6th, 1937" unused real photo post card copyrighted by The Garraway Company in Rutherford New Jersey, slight curl to the paper is no problem in an album or even sleeved, slight oxidation consistent with its age. Hard to find: what is probably the best photo of the disaster, so whatever supplies of it once existed went speedily into strong hands. You are only likely to see it in an exhibit today; we found but one such exhibit when we searched the Internet recently. $50.00 zn(l)d NEW / NY / NOUVEAU / ÚJ

LAKEHURST (OCEAN COUNTY). "Das schaurige Schauspiel des Brandes im Zwielicht des Tages / Originalaufnahme" annotated on back 'LZ Hindenburg Lakehurst in brant 6.5.37' with a violet handstamp that is partially indistinct due to under-inking and a small scrape to the back surface. Rough translations: "The eerie spectacle of the fire in the twilight of day" & 'Hindenburg at Lakehurst on fire June 5 1937". Size 3-1/2"x4-3/8", rough edges as issued, glossy finish, light spotty toning on front, album residue on back obscures nothing. Rare: we found no other offered or exhibited when we searched the Internet. SALE IN PROGRESS zfdn(l)

LAKEHURST (OCEAN COUNTY). "INTERIOR OF HANGAR, NAVAL AIR STATION, LAKEHURST, N. J." with its dimensions printed on the back, Collotype Company printing in Elizabeth NJ, published by the Airship Photo Shop in Lakehurst, mailed MAY 12 1933 from Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania to John B. Hale from his Aunt Sue, who reported the Akron was not there the day before. Three corners with small creases, back with extensive even light yellowish toning, light toning in the front borders, thin in stamp area suggests that sender had started with a higher denomination stamp & then thought better of it. When searching the Internet for this postcard we found only one recorded sale, in 2013. Makes you wonder how they jockeyed all those airships into position, doesn't it? $20.00 znia(m)g
