Frank Rockefeller / Passing Swing Bridge, Ashtabula Harbor, Ohio." a steam locomotive with tender in the foreground, unused circa 1910 postcard published by C. C. Hoadley, back paper browning a bit with age, minor corner wear. This 'tin stacker'  (silver-plated funnels) was owned by the Pittsburgh Steamship Company. In 1927 she was renamed the South Park & in 1933 she helped prepare the site of the Chicago World's Fair. Another dealer termed this 'extremely rare' when he sold it at auction; we would not go that far, but it is definitely hard to find--probably explained by the poor quality of the printing. $20.00 o(a)s(l)s(p)b

SS Sol Duc (1912). "S. S. Sol Duc, the 16 knot steel steamship on / Seattle-Port Crescent run." unused color postcard, exceptionally fresh for its age. Registered to the Puget Sound Navigation Company in 1912.  Originally Port Crescent was planned as a deep-water harbor for oceanic ships, such as timber cruisers destined for foreign ports, but the idea was abandoned as impractical for a number of reasons after some construction & settlement had commenced. Port Crescent was destroyed by fire in the late 1920's. Sold but front side still available for artistic study & reference as an enlarged (about 771% of original print area) & enhanced 200-dpi scan in .jpg format. $2.00 s(p)w(p)s(c)
