Room / at mouth of Pure / Gold Gulch / Yukon Territory Bonanza Creek,
Dawson" sepia-tone real photo postcard with good focus & contrast, published
by Wile's Emporium in Fairbanks Alaska, mailed 1925 from Ravenna Ohio to
Mrs. W. Granger in Hillsboro Ohio, minor corner wear & rounding, light
toning in the front borders & backside suggesting of album contact. Bonanza
Creek was the gold discovery site back in August of 1896; by 1925, all
miners had long-since departed the then lightly-touristed area, consistent
with the poignant feeling of desolation seen in this view. Rare: when we
searched the Internet we found no other offers, no recorded past sales, and
no one exhibiting it.
